Arajet launches fourth Cadets program to train Dominican pilots

Arajet, the flag carrier of the Dominican Republic, has started the fourth edition of its Cadets program in partnership with Boeing. The initiative, backed by an investment exceeding US$1 million, aims to train the next generation of commercial pilots for the airline.

Five new cadets were selected from 17 candidates who underwent interviews, technical and psychological assessments, ATP examinations and simulator sessions. Each trainee receives a full scholarship, with the airline spending about US$110 000 per cadet. Graduates are guaranteed first‑officer positions on Arajet’s Boeing 737 MAX fleet. To date, six alumni of the program already serve as first officers.

Arajet CEO Victor Miguel Pacheco said the airline is committed to putting the Dominican Republic on the global aviation map by developing its people. Vice‑President of Human Resources and Culture Ivanna Lajara highlighted the program as a growth opportunity for internal staff transitioning to pilot roles.
