Arbroath murder investigation following death of nine-year-old girl

An investigation is underway following the death of nine-year-old Minnie Merriman, who was found at the Elliot industrial estate in Arbroath while her family was camping. Minnie was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she subsequently died. Her father, 35-year-old Christopher Rice of West Yorkshire, has been charged with her murder. Rice appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court, where he did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
