Arc System Works to open Studio TAKUMI in Tokyo
Arc System Works has announced the opening of a new studio, Studio TAKUMI, in Shinjuku, Tokyo, scheduled for November 2. The new branch will be dedicated to developing a new fighting game intellectual property.
The project is supported by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “IP360” subsidy program. This initiative aims to strengthen the overseas sales of Japanese content, with a target of reaching 20 trillion yen by 2033. Other major companies, including Sega, Konami, and Koei Tecmo, are also participating in the program.
Arc System Works is currently recruiting creators to serve as founding members of the studio. While the specific details of the new fighting game IP have not yet been disclosed, the studio is intended to act as a communicative collaboration hub to expand the reach of Japanese gaming content globally.
