Archbishop of Palermo calls for global peace at Saint Rosalia mass
During a mass held at the Sanctuary of Monte Pellegrino for the Solemnity of Saint Rosalia, the Archbishop of Palermo, Monsignor Corrado Lorefice, delivered a homily calling for global peace.
Lorefice addressed the inhumanity of ongoing wars and the crisis of migrant rejections in the Mediterranean, which he described as turning the sea into a cemetery. He emphasized the need for compassion and the role of youth in pursuing peaceful paths for humanity.
The ceremony included the presence of Andrii Yurash, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Holy See. The event also marked the unveiling of a plaque featuring a Ukrainian translation of existing inscriptions at the sanctuary.
