Architectural initiatives announced in Sarajevo and Split
The Diaspona Architectural Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Sarajevo's Faculty of Architecture, has announced the 'City Perspectives' urbanism symposium. Scheduled for October 10, 2026, at the UNITIC business center in Sarajevo, the event focuses on contemporary approaches to urbanism, blending international experiences with local opportunities. The symposium will feature six lecturers from six different countries, including experts from London and Kansas City, to discuss planning regulations, participatory urbanism, and collective consciousness in city shaping.
In Croatia, the Split Architects Society (DAS) has launched a public call to select six young architectural firms for the 'Pumaž' exhibition and lecture series. The initiative aims to showcase the diversity and quality of work produced by the younger generation of architects in the Split-Dalmatia County. The competition is open to firms registered since September 24, 2016, with authors aged 40 or younger. The program seeks to foster public dialogue and professional exchange regarding the challenges of urban development in historical locations.
