Arduino launches VENTUNO Q edge AI board for robotics

Arduino has launched pre-orders for the VENTUNO Q, an edge AI development board designed for robotics, physical AI, and real-time hardware control. The board utilizes a “dual-brain” architecture, pairing a Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-8275 processor with an STM32H5 microcontroller.

The Qualcomm processor provides up to 40 dense TOPS of AI performance and runs Ubuntu Linux, handling tasks such as computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and vision-language models (VLMs). The STM32H5 microcontroller runs Zephyr RTOS to manage latency-sensitive hardware tasks, including motor control, GPIO, and CAN-FD communication.

Equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage, the VENTUNO Q can run models like Qwen 3, Gemma, and Whisper speech recognition locally, reducing reliance on cloud services. The hardware includes 3x MIPI CSI camera interfaces, 2.5Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3, with an M.2 slot available for PCIe NVMe SSD expansion. The platform integrates with tools such as Hugging Face, Edge Impulse, and the Qualcomm AI Hub to simplify model deployment.
