Arechi Stadium restyling faces funding delays in Salerno

The restyling project for the Arechi Stadium and the Volpe field area in Salerno faces new delays due to funding uncertainties. Although a service conference approved the executive project for a temporary stadium, the release of 139 million euros in funds from the Campania Region remains stalled.

The funds, originally part of the FESR project, were moved to Cohesion Funds following European Union objections regarding the use of such funds for stadiums instead of seismic remediation. However, the Campania Region cannot yet authorize the expenditure. A determination from Arus indicates that the operation requires verification of compatibility with State aid regulations and an official certification of the economic-financial plan. An assignment has been made to Mila Ingegneria to handle these bureaucratic requirements at a cost of 125,000 euros.
