Arequipa Municipality must present anniversary celebration accounts within 30 days

The Arequipa Municipality is required to present a consolidated report on the income and expenses related to the city's anniversary celebrations within 30 business days. Following the final activity on August 30, the report is expected to be presented to the Municipal Council by mid-October.

Councilwoman Mayra Sumari Laura noted that in previous years, reports were presented by the municipal manager rather than the direct commission officials, often resulting in superficial explanations. This year, there is an expectation for a more formal and detailed substantiation.

Carlos Sánchez, the Assistant Manager of Tourism and a member of the Celebrations Commission, stated that officials are currently consolidating information from over 24 activities. The report will include photographic, documentary, and logistical records. He noted that approximately 70% of the funds were raised through private contributions, while the remaining 30% came from municipal resources and ticket sales.
