Aretusacque and Siam clarify water service security deposits

Following the transition to a new water service management in Siracusa on June 25, 2026, Aretusacque S.p.A. has provided clarifications regarding security deposits appearing on user invoices. The deposit is not a consumption fee but a guarantee against contractual obligations, regulated by the national authority ARERA. The amount is calculated based on historical consumption, capped at three months of usage, and is charged in three installments.

Regarding previous management, Siam has addressed inquiries concerning the refund of security deposits held by the former provider. Siam stated that refund procedures began in July and are ongoing. Refunds are not automatic; they require verification to ensure users have no outstanding debts or payment irregularities. To receive a refund, users must submit a written request including their bank details (IBAN), as this information is not currently in the company's database. Users can verify their deposit amount by checking their final bill from Siam.
