Arezzo homicide investigation: suspect detained after man found dead

Police have detained a suspect following the murder of 61-year-old Luciano Buonfiglio, who was found dead in the San Zeno industrial area near Arezzo. The victim, a consultant and former civic activist, was discovered on the night of Halloween in the parking lot of the La Torretta restaurant.

Buonfiglio suffered severe head injuries, reportedly caused by a blunt object. Investigators believe the fatal assault may have occurred in the parking area, possibly following a heated argument inside a vehicle. The victim's body was found near his own car.

A 30-year-old man of South American origin has been detained in connection with the crime. Authorities are currently working to establish the motive and the relationship between the suspect and the deceased. The investigation is being led by the Mobile Squad of the Arezzo Police Headquarters with support from forensic specialists.
