Investigations into Italian parking lot deaths continue

Authorities in Italy are investigating two separate incidents involving individuals found dead in parking lots.

In Verucchio, police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old Albanian man found in the Vision Club parking lot. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the victim arriving in a vehicle and falling heavily to the ground. The Rimini Prosecutor's Office has ordered an autopsy to determine if the death was caused by a medical emergency, an accident, or an assault.

In Arezzo, a homicide investigation is underway following the death of 61-year-old Luciano Buonfiglio, a consultant and former civic activist. His body was discovered near his vehicle in the parking lot of the La Torretta restaurant in the San Zeno industrial area during the night of Halloween. The victim sustained severe head injuries that investigators believe may have been inflicted by a blunt object.

Investigators from the Mobile Squad and forensic specialists are working to reconstruct the victim's final hours. There is a possibility that the fatal assault occurred in the parking area, potentially following a heated argument inside a vehicle. A 30-year-old man of South American origin has been detained in connection with the case. While the motive and the relationship between the suspect and the victim remain unclear, police are examining whether the incident stemmed from a dispute. The industrial area is noted for being isolated at night.
