Buenos Aires province joins Argentina's unified professional driver license system

The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) confirmed that the province of Buenos Aires has been incorporated into Argentina's federal Professional Driver Licences system for categories C, D and E, completing national coverage under Decree 196/2025. The new Interjurisdictional National Professional Licences (SINALIC) extend credential validity to five years for drivers aged 21‑65, replacing the previous requirement to renew every two years.

Renewals are now initiated digitally, with in‑person visits limited to psychophysical examinations and mandatory training. Drivers may choose any accredited public or private training provider in any jurisdiction, and training courses have been increased to 20 hours to raise safety standards. A new citizen road‑reporting tool via WhatsApp also enables the public to flag dangerous maneuvers.

The reforms aim to simplify procedures, reduce costs, improve flexibility for professional drivers who travel nationwide, and standardize safety standards across Argentina's road network.
