Argentina expands digital, tech, safety, training programs
Entities: Abel Guerrieri · Argentina · Chubut provincial government · Leonardo Aguilar · Ushuaia
Overview
Since June 2024 Argentina’s executive decree has driven municipal reforms that mix digital‑payment pilots, tech‑training, vocational education and road‑safety measures. Mayor Norma Fuentes and Education Minister Mariela Nassif linked teacher‑training students with kindergarten classrooms, while clubs such as Rosario’s Club Digital and events in Río Gallegos, Bariloche, Córdoba and Salta delivered coding workshops and entrepreneurship fairs showcasing thousands of student projects. Corporate apprenticeships with YPF and Egger opened pathways in engineering and electrical‑maintenance, and the Prodeco vehicle‑decontamination programme in Venado Tuerto redirected scrap‑sale revenue to health cooperatives and fire‑brigade funds. The ANSV’s unified professional driver‑licensing system, first rolled out in Ushuaia, was extended in July 2026 to Buenos Aires, completing national coverage under Decree 196/2025. The inter‑jurisdictional SINALIC licences now cover categories C‑E, grant five‑year validity, require a 20‑hour theory‑practice course and are renewed digitally; a WhatsApp road‑reporting tool was also introduced. The federal “Volver al Trabajo” cash‑assistance scheme ended in July 2026, shifting beneficiaries to the Formando Capital Humano platform, which offers vocational and digital courses in partnership with YPF, Arcos Dorados, Quilmes and the Ministry of Defence. RENATRE’s Rural Employment Program registers agricultural workers nationwide, while La Ríoja opened registration for its fourth 2026 cohort of free public‑sector training. In late July 2026 RENATRE and UATRE conducted safety and first‑aid training for rural workers at Estancia Los Flamencos in Tierra del Fuego. RENATRE also opened registration for the free Programa de Empleo Rural, now with over 5,000 profiles, and launched an online platform that matches workers with employers nationwide, unveiled at the Rural Expo. The agency introduced a renewable Sustainable Labor Practices certification for agribusinesses. Municipal training continued: Concordia (Entre Ríos) held a customer‑service workshop, and Chacabuco (Buenos Aires) began courses on tax and payroll liquidation, English for tourism and basic welding, with enrolment via WhatsApp.
