Argentina advances gas expansion in Chacabuco and water supply project in Tupungato
The municipality of Chacabuco and gas distributor Camuzzi, together with the local Cooperativa Eléctrica, approved a plan to extend natural‑gas service across new residential zones and strengthen supply to four industrial firms. The project includes technical works such as a railway crossing near Hipólito Yrigoyen and ongoing coordination meetings to accelerate construction.
In Mendoza’s Tupungato department, the Subsecretariat of Infrastructure launched a tender for a major water‑distribution upgrade in the San José basin. The $1.53 billion project will build a 240‑cubic‑meter reservoir, four reinforced‑plastic tanks, new pipelines spanning over 3 km and a telemetry system to monitor pressure and flow in real time, aiming to meet the needs of a population projected to exceed 50 000 by 2030.
