Argentina and Chile boost inclusive education programs

The National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo) in Mendoza, Argentina, awarded its first cohort of ten young adults with intellectual disabilities completing a pioneering university‑level labor training program. Graduates—including Alejandro Pagano, Antonio Anzorena, Darío Gómez and others—finished a curriculum that combined theory, specialized workshops and internships in local businesses, marking the first university offering of this kind in the country.

In Chile, the Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB) in Concepción hosted its inaugural Seminar on Educational Inclusion, gathering teachers, school administrators and members of the Archdiocese’s school network. Organisers such as María Florencia Iriarte and Sandra Urra highlighted the need to remove learning barriers and to foster collaborative dialogue between higher‑education institutions and K‑12 schools.

Both initiatives reflect a growing focus on expanding access and participation for students with disabilities across South America.
