Brazil's ANAC restricts Flybondi ticket sales after mass cancellations
On 29 July 2026 Brazil's civil aviation authority, the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), issued a precautionary measure that bans the Argentine low‑cost carrier Flybondi from selling tickets to three new Brazilian destinations – Florianópolis, Maceió and Salvador – and threatens to suspend sales for the Buenos Aires–Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) route from 3 August unless the airline demonstrates corrective actions.
The restriction was triggered after ANAC found that Flybondi cancelled 79 % of its flights registered in Brazil between 1 and 27 July 2026, showing a marked deterioration in operational capacity and a surge in passenger complaints about refunds, re‑booking and assistance. Existing tickets remain valid, but the airline must offer free re‑accommodation or a full refund within seven days for any new cancellations. ANAC said the measures could be lifted if Flybondi restores regular operations and resolves the identified consumer‑risk issues.
