Jujuy's 22nd Book Fair launches Aug 7 with “Memorias a escena” theme
The 22nd edition of the Feria del Libro Jujuy will run from 7 to 15 August, offering nearly 300 free activities across venues such as El Cabildo, Teatro Mitre and the Centro de Arte Joven Andino. Organized by the Fundación Feria del Libro Jujuy with provincial government support, the fair adopts the “Memorias a escena” (Memories on Stage) theme to mark the 50‑year anniversary of the 1976 coup and promote collective reflection on memory and identity.
National and Bolivian authors including Selva Almada, historian Felipe Pigna and philosopher Darío Sztajnszrajber will headline the program, which also features theater, live music and workshops. A new corridor for independent publishers will gather around 50 regional houses, expanding the fair’s role as a hub for the cultural industries. Officials such as Culture and Tourism Minister Federico Posadas and Secretary of Culture José Rodríguez Bárcena highlighted the event’s aim to reinforce reading habits in the digital age.
The previous edition attracted more than 150,000 visitors, and organizers expect higher attendance this year.
