Overview
August added several regional fairs to the busy calendar. The Santa Fe Book Fair ran 26‑30 August at Estación Belgrano, hosting more than 70 publisher stands and 90 cultural activities, with an opening conference by Gabriela Cabezón Cámara. The Bragado Book Fair opened 6‑9 August at the Centro Cultural Florencio Constantino, offering free entry, talks, exhibitions and performances, including a lecture by Paula Bombara and appearances by Selva Almada and Federico Jeanmaire. The Jujuy Book Fair continued its “Memorias a Escena” theme from 7‑15 August, delivering over 300 activities and a strong educational programme.
Looking ahead, the Neuquén International Book Fair “Marcelo Martín Berbel” is scheduled for 11‑20 September, targeting the 250,000‑visitor level recorded last year. Organisers reported more than 600 applications, 250 authors from Argentina, Chile and other provinces, and 150 exhibitors, with around 200 cultural activities planned.
In November, Corrientes will host the XXIII Encuentro Nacional de Carreras de Comunicación Social (ENACOM 2026) at UNNE’s COMTULAB campus, inviting abstracts until 9 August on fifteen thematic axes covering communication theory, digital literacy, media history and the 50th anniversary of Argentina’s last military dictatorship.
