Argentina and Mexico organise mass rallies supporting Cuba amid U.S. embargo

In Buenos Aires, dozens of Argentine political, labour, social and cultural organisations will gather on July 4 at the Federación Argentina de Box to stage a massive event under the slogan “Estamos con Cuba”. The rally aims to denounce the United States’ 66‑year economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba, call for the removal of Cuba from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism, and protest the alignment of Argentina’s foreign policy with Washington under President Javier Milei.

In Mexico City, organizers announced a march that will start at the Hemiciclo a Juárez at 10:30 a.m. and end in front of the former U.S. embassy on Paseo de la Reforma. The protest marks the 73rd anniversary of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes assaults and condemns the “genocidal” U.S. embargo, recent legal actions against former Cuban leader Raúl Castro, and what they describe as a looming risk of direct U.S. military intervention. Participants include unions, student groups, religious bodies, artists and academics, all calling for solidarity with the Cuban people.
