Mobile health units deliver free services to communities across Latin America

Municipal and national health authorities in several Latin American cities organized mobile health operations that offered free medical, dental, ophthalmological, vaccination and social assistance services.

In Dosquebradas, Colombia, the "Tu Salud nos Mueve" campaign set up a community health day in the Camilo Torres neighbourhood, providing screening, basic medical exams, mental‑health counseling and animal vaccinations to more than 450 residents.

In Argentina, a Ministry of Public Health mobile hospital was stationed in Barrancas del Salí, operating from a set of eight health trailers that served over 250 people daily with women’s health, prenatal, pediatric, chronic‑disease, and laboratory services.

Chile’s municipality of Calama held a medical‑social fair at Colegio Río Loa, offering primary‑care consultations, eye exams, dental care, vaccinations, disability and senior‑program assistance, as well as free haircuts and job‑placement booths.

In Peru’s Cusco region, the Camisea consortium equipped 16 health posts in the Amazonian district of Megantoni with portable X‑ray units, hematology analyzers and other diagnostic tools, preparing the sites for future telemedicine services.

The Peruvian health network EsSalud in Ucayali reported a 97 % medication stock level for more than 180 000 insured patients, supported by a dedicated budget and logistical measures.
