Argentina and Peru Deploy Mobile ID Services to Reach Remote Residents
In Río Colorado, Argentina, a mobile civil‑registry unit will operate on August 10‑11 at Plaza San Martín, offering new DNI cards, replacements, and mandatory updates for children and adolescents. The service runs from 10:00 to 16:00 and follows a provincial program that processed 3,433 transactions in the first half of the year, aiming to reduce travel distances for residents of Río Negro.
In Peru, the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) will run free, itinerant DNI campaigns from August 3‑9 across 19 departments, including Amazonas, Cusco, Lima and others. The brigades will provide first‑time registrations, renewals, data updates and duplicate issuance at no cost, targeting remote, low‑income, indigenous and vulnerable populations such as minors, seniors and people with disabilities.
