Argentina arrests parents after 24-day-old baby found with cocaine and fractures

Authorities in Argentina have arrested a 34-year-old father and a 26-year-old mother following the discovery of severe injuries and drug presence in their 24-day-old baby.

The infant, originally from Balnearia, was brought to the J. B. Iturraspe Hospital in San Francisco. Medical examinations revealed the presence of cocaine in the baby's blood, along with critical injuries including a skull fracture and a fractured scapula. Due to the severity of the condition, the infant was transferred to the Neonatal Hospital in Córdoba.

Prosecutor Francisco Payges of the Morteros Instruction Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the injuries. The parents remain in custody as the legal process continues.
