Argentina Judiciary reviews Luis Caputo dismissal and Kirchner trials

Argentine judicial proceedings are advancing in several high-profile cases. The Federal Criminal and Correctional Chamber's Room I has formally accepted a cassation appeal from prosecutor Eugenia Anzorreguy de Silva regarding the dismissal of Economy Minister Luis Caputo. The investigation concerns Caputo's alleged failure to declare ties to companies that benefited from a 100-year bond issued during the administration of Mauricio Macri.

In another major case, the Federal Cassation Chamber will decide whether to reunify the Hotesur and Los Sauces trials involving Cristina Kirchner and Máximo Kirchner. A hearing is set for October 15 to determine if the cases, which involve allegations of money laundering and illicit association, should be tried together or separately. Prosecutor Diego Velasco has argued for unification, claiming the maneuvers are intertwined.

Additionally, the Federal Oral Court 5 has begun a trial concerning the systematic theft and laundering of assets belonging to disappeared detainees at the ESMA during the military dictatorship. The accused include Eduardo Enrique Massera and several previously convicted members of the ESMA task forces.
