Argentina boosts international flight links with new code‑share and regional routes

Aerolíneas Argentinas and Scandinavian carrier SAS, both members of SkyTeam, signed a code‑share agreement that will allow passengers to travel on a single ticket between Buenos Aires, Madrid and Rome and the Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. The partnership will enable shared check‑in, baggage handling and mileage accrual, with implementation planned for the third quarter of 2026 pending government approvals.

Separately, Argentina’s transport authority authorized Paranair to operate regular passenger and cargo flights on a new Asunción‑Salta‑Iquique corridor. The route connects the Argentine province of Salta with Paraguay and northern Chile, aiming to strengthen tourism, trade and regional connectivity and to position Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport as a key hub for the north‑grand region.
