Argentina exchange rates: Official and card dollar values

In Argentina, the official retail dollar rate is averaging $1,515.01 for sales, according to the Central Bank (BCRA). While the exchange controls (cepo) have been lifted, a 30% surcharge remains applicable to the 'card dollar' for all credit and debit card expenditures made abroad.

This surcharge is applied as an advance on Income Tax (Ganancias) and has been in effect for foreign card transactions since December 23, 2024. Consequently, the card dollar rates across various banks range from approximately $1,956.50 at Brubank to $1,982.50 at Banco Piano.
