Argentina expands early childhood development initiatives in Tierra del Fuego and Chubut

In Ushuaia, the national PRE‑PRUNAPE program held its first training cycle, gathering health workers, teachers and institutional representatives to improve early detection of developmental disorders in children. Officials highlighted its importance: Secretary Verónica Maestro said the cycle “represents a very important step to strengthen the capacities of those who work daily with girls and boys,” and Subsecretary Sabrina Marcucci noted the municipal commitment since 2022.

In Chubut, provincial authorities welcomed representatives from UNICEF, the national Ministry of Children, Adolescence and Family and other officials to advance the Federal Early Childhood Protection Program. The meeting, led by Minister Florencia Papaiani, presented the strategy to strengthen Infant Development Centers and provide comprehensive support to families with children up to four years old. UNICEF’s Cecilia del Bono and national secretary Juan Bautista Ordóñez participated, emphasizing coordinated action across nation, province and municipalities.
