Argentina housing rollout and Mexico upgrades – July 2026
Entities: San Luis Province · IPDUV · La Punta housing project · Chaco Province · Claudia Panzardi
Overview
In July 2026 Argentina’s provincial governments accelerated public‑housing delivery. Buenos Aires Province handed over 22 homes in General Pinto, the Union of Civil Personnel inaugurated the Parque Norte II complex in Santa Fe, and La Plata’s mayor and Governor Axel Kicillof presented over 400 free deeds under the “Mi Escritura, Mi Casa” scheme, bringing the programme total to 3,687 titles.
The national government rejected a US$270 million loan for a sewage‑treatment plant serving La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada, leaving the province to absorb ARS 1.265 billion in interest. Meanwhile, Mexico’s Mexicali continued a four‑week rehabilitation of a sanitary drainage well, and the council of Cajeme, Sonora approved its 2023‑2040 Urban Development Program, transferring land for road access to an IMSS hospital.
Provincial housing efforts expanded later in the month. On 23 July, San Luis intensified its “Tenemos Futuro” programme, completing 30 homes in the Chacabuco department (San Pablo, Renca, Naschel) with final finishes underway. Misiones’ IPRODHA prepared the delivery of roughly 300 homes in Posadas through the Convocatoria 250 scheme (late August–September) and completed 42 houses in Apóstoles, while work continued on Viviendas Misioneras 2020 in Puerto Libertad and a planned 150 units in Oberá.
A week later, San Luis reported 38 additional dwellings nearing completion in Concarán, Tilisaraó and Papagayos under “Tenemos Futuro” and “Progreso‑Sueños”. In Chaco, the Institute of Provincial Urban Development and Housing signed an agreement with Laguna Blanca to start new housing construction, reinforcing the provinces’ focus on expanding affordable homes and preserving local jobs.
