Argentina expands mobile civil‑registry services for ID and passport documents

The provincial civil registries of San Luis and Jujuy have launched mobile operations to bring national identity (DNI) and passport services to remote communities. In San Luis’s Junín department, officials set up a decentralised desk in Las Palomas and Talita, completing 25 transactions that largely involved DNI updates and address changes for residents, including minors aged 5‑8 and 14.

In Jujuy, a series of scheduled visits will take place in early July, with stations in El Carmen, Humahuaca, Iturbe and San Salvador de Jujuy. The agency requires digital payment only and asks applicants to bring their birth certificate. The initiative is promoted as “Identidad y Libertad” to ensure citizens can obtain essential documentation near their homes.
