Argentina expands renewable energy with new wind and solar projects
Argentina is advancing its renewable energy infrastructure through new solar and wind projects. In Tandil, Buenos Aires province, Genneia has inaugurated the La Elbita Wind Farm. This project involved a USD 240 million investment and utilizes 36 Vestas wind turbines to provide 162 MW of installed power. The farm is expected to produce 705,000 MWh annually, enough to supply 175,000 homes while preventing 315,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
In Corrientes, the Bella Vista photovoltaic plant has reached approximately 90% completion. Officials expect the facility to be operational by October 16. The plant, which provides around 10 MW, aims to strengthen the local electrical system, improve energy quality, and stabilize supply for residents and industries, particularly during periods of high summer demand.
