Argentina government and CGT reach agreement on union dues
The Argentine government and the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) have reached an agreement regarding the collection of union dues. This resolution addresses the dispute over "solidarity quotas"—contributions deducted from non-affiliated workers—and allows for the renegotiation and ratification of more than 800 collective bargaining agreements that were previously stalled.
The agreement, facilitated by the Secretariat of Labor, establishes a mechanism to ensure union financing while adhering to the executive branch's new regulatory framework. This development is expected to provide greater economic predictability for various production sectors by allowing wage scales and working conditions to be updated to the current economic climate.
