Health ministries launch hospitals, digital tools and outreach programs across Argentina, Ecuador, Chile and Peru

In Argentina, the Ministry of Health monitored the rollout of vaccination micro‑planning tools and the electronic Nominal Vaccination Registry to improve coverage, while the province of Corrientes introduced the SegEm digital platform that automatically alerts health teams when pregnant women miss appointments. The Hospital Zonal de Campo Gallo opened new operating rooms, allowing medium‑complex surgeries to be performed locally under the itinerant surgical programme.

Ecuador’s Los Ríos prefecture presented progress on a new Day Hospital in Quevedo, aimed at decongesting existing facilities and extending specialist care. In Chile, a modern Community Health Centre (CECOSF) was inaugurated in Prosperidad, Curicó, expected to serve about 5,000 residents with comprehensive primary‑care services.

Peru’s National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) announced a research partnership with the Intercultural Hospital of Atalaya to evaluate and potentially replicate its model that integrates Western medicine with indigenous knowledge, which has already increased institutional births and improved prenatal care.
