Argentina judicial authorities hold training on child protection and juvenile law

Judicial and government authorities in Argentina are conducting training sessions focused on child protection and the new juvenile criminal regime. In Río Grande, the Ministry of Citizen Welfare and Justice collaborated with the Provincial Judiciary to hold a workshop titled “Tramas de protección: hacia una ruta crítica que cuide las infancias.” The session aimed to provide tools for handling judicialized childhood situations and rights violations, specifically addressing the process of sexual abuse reports and judicial proceedings.

Additionally, the Instituto San Martín de Porres will host a training day regarding the new Juvenile Criminal Regime. Led by the Interdisciplinary Technical Team of the Juvenile Criminal OGA, the event will feature legal experts such as Judge Gastón Merino and Manuel Santillán Zavalía. Discussions will cover legislative changes, the debate over the age of criminal responsibility, crime prevention, and the role of social work in supporting adolescents in vulnerable contexts.
