Argentina labor groups rally for strike and hold community health fair

Union leaders of the CTA Autónoma in Buenos Aires met with representatives of meat‑processing workers to discuss coordinated actions against President Javier Milei’s policies. The gathering, held at the ATE Quilmes headquarters, emphasized building a broad coalition for a nationwide general strike and a federal march planned for October, aiming to bring together thousands of demonstrators in Plaza de Mayo.

In a separate initiative, the Peronist organization CoPeBo organized a health‑screening and recreation day for families in the La Tosquera neighbourhood of González Catán. The event, hosted at the Santa Mónica community kitchen, provided pediatric examinations, vaccination checks and recreational activities for over 170 children, underscoring local efforts to support residents amid Argentina’s economic hardship.
