Argentina launches national free detection campaign for psoriatic disease
Medical organizations in Argentina are launching a national campaign for the free detection of psoriatic disease. The initiative aims to raise awareness, prevent complications, and improve early diagnosis of the condition.
From August 17 to August 23, individuals identifying symptoms can request free appointments with dermatology and rheumatology specialists across various locations in the country. Effective medical consultations will take place from August 24 to August 28. In Santiago del Estero, services will be concentrated at Hospital Independencia and Instituto Face de Dermatología y Estética.
Psoriatic disease is a non-contagious, chronic immune system disorder that can affect both the skin (psoriasis) and the joints (psoriatic arthritis). Psoriasis is characterized by red, scaly lesions on areas such as the elbows, knees, trunk, and scalp. Between 10% and 30% of cases may progress to psoriatic arthritis.
