Argentina psoriatic disease detection campaign

Medical organizations in Argentina have launched a national campaign for the free detection of psoriatic disease. The initiative is organized by several groups, including the Sociedad Argentina de Reumatología (SAR), the Asociación Argentina de Dermatología (AAD), the Sociedad Argentina de Psoriasis (SOARPSO), and the Asociación para el Enfermo de Psoriasis y Artritis Psoriásica (AEPSO).

Between August 17 and August 23, individuals experiencing symptoms can request free appointments through a dedicated 0800 number or an official website. Following this period, medical consultations with dermatology and rheumatology specialists are scheduled to take place from August 24 to August 28 at various public and private centers throughout the country.

The campaign seeks to raise awareness, facilitate early diagnosis, and assist both undiagnosed individuals and existing patients who may have stopped treatment. Psoriatic disease is a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory condition affecting the skin, nails, scalp, and joints, with 10% to 30% of cases potentially progressing to psoriatic arthritis.
