Argentina launches national free detection campaign for psoriatic disease
A national campaign for the free detection of psoriatic disease is being launched in Argentina. The initiative is organized by the Sociedad Argentina de Reumatología (SAR), the Asociación Argentina de Dermatología (AAD), the Sociedad Argentina de Psoriasis (SOARPSO), and the Asociación para el Enfermo de Psoriasis y Artritis Psoriásica (AEPSO).
From August 17 to 23, individuals identifying symptoms can request free appointments via the official website or a dedicated 0800 number. The actual medical consultations with dermatologists and rheumatologists will take place from August 24 to 28 at various public and private centers across the country.
The campaign aims to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment for both undiagnosed individuals and existing patients who may have discontinued treatment. Psoriatic disease is a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory condition that can affect the skin, nails, scalp, and joints, potentially leading to psoriatic arthritis in 10% to 30% of cases.
