Argentina launches National Plan for Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Argentine Ministry of Health has officially implemented the National Plan for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Formalized through Resolution 1115/2026 and published in the Official Gazette, the initiative establishes a new public policy paradigm for mental health to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for individuals with the condition.

The National Directorate for Integral Mental Health Approach will oversee the execution and monitoring of the program throughout the country. The plan aims to unify efforts across public and private sectors, as well as various jurisdictions, to ensure continuity of treatment. Key objectives include enhancing the quality of care, rehabilitation, and recovery, with a specific focus on early detection and timely intervention.

According to the official resolution, the strategy will be developed without additional budgetary expenditures, instead optimizing existing resources and coordination mechanisms within the national health system. This measure follows Law No. 27.043 and its regulatory decree, which declare the comprehensive approach to autism to be of national interest.
