Argentina launches new municipal asphalt paving projects

The municipality of Quilmes in Buenos Aires Province announced the paving of 57 city blocks in its western districts. Interim mayor Eva Mieri said the work is part of Mayor Mayra Mendoza’s 2025‑27 plan, which aims to pave 1,600 blocks by the end of 2027, using municipal funds.

In Viedma, the capital of Río Negro Province, officials opened a public tender for the first stage of the 2026 Asphalt Plan. The city will pave 17 blocks across four neighborhoods, funded entirely by the municipality, and will also add curbs, sidewalks and drainage works to improve durability. Mayor Marcos Castro highlighted the project as a response to long‑standing resident demands for better road connectivity.
