Argentina launches new water supply projects in Junín and Neuquén

In the city of Junín, municipal authorities led by Mayor Juan Fiorini have extended the piped water network to the La Celeste neighbourhood, replacing a provisional ¾‑inch system with a permanent line that provides continuous pressure and individual household connections. Director of Works Sanitation Mariano Petraglia said, "nos pone muy contentos llevar adelante este tipo de trabajos en beneficio de familias y vecinos de la ciudad," and residents expressed gratitude for the long‑awaited service.

In Neuquén province, the provincial water agency, with financing from a CAF loan, has begun construction of a new water supply system for the Auquinco settlement near Buta Ranquil. The project, 20 % complete, includes a new intake, reservoir tank, chlorination plant, and distribution network that will serve about 40 families for the first time. Environment Secretary Hipólito Salvatori emphasized, "El acceso al agua segura no puede depender del lugar donde una familia haya elegido vivir," and the work is scheduled to be finished within the next year.
