Argentina marks 40th anniversary of Jorge Luis Borges' death with book fair and library talks
Argentina is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the death of writer Jorge Luis Borges with cultural events in two provinces. In Junín, the provincial government and UNNOBA opened the 22nd Feria del Libro on July 30, featuring workshops, exhibitions and a program themed “Junín vuelve a Borges” in honor of the author. Mayor Juan Fiorini attended the opening.
In Córdoba, the Biblioteca Córdoba hosted a free public dialogue titled “Pensar Borges” on July 28, bringing together award‑winning writer María Teresa Andruetto and philosopher Diego Tatián to discuss Borges’ work and legacy. The event was organized by the Biblioteca Nacional’s Juan Filloy branch and the Agencia Córdoba Cultura.
