Argentina marks 52nd anniversary of Juan Perón's death with local ceremonies

In Berazategui, Buenos Aires Province, Peronist militants gathered at the Plaza de los Bustos to honour the 52nd anniversary of former President Juan Domingo Perón’s death. Floral tributes were laid at his monument and speeches highlighted Perón’s legacy of economic independence, political sovereignty and social justice. Local leaders such as Carlos Balor, president of the local Justicialist Party, and union representatives praised Perón’s contributions to workers’ rights.

A similar commemoration took place in Santiago del Estero, where national senator José Emilio Neder and provincial officials, including Vice‑Governor Carlos Silva Neder, placed offerings at Perón’s bust on the Santiago‑La Banda highway. Neder criticised the current right‑wing government for harming workers and small businesses, reaffirming the Peronist commitment to the “happiness of the people” and the upcoming 2027 national project.

Both events featured religious prayers, floral homages, and calls for unity and renewed militancy within the Peronist movement ahead of upcoming municipal elections.
