Argentina mayors outline political primaries and economic bond plans

Moreno mayor Mariel Fernández visited Banfield, reaffirming her intention to run for the Buenos Aires governorship in 2027. She endorsed holding internal PASO primaries within Peronism, describing them as “healthy” for democracy, and criticised the national government's stance on industry and sovereignty.

Posadas mayor Leonardo Stelatto publicly supported the provincial Economic Reactivation Bond, which would allow the Misiones government to issue up to US$300 million in financial instruments earmarked exclusively for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, energy, housing and connectivity. The bond aims to boost the province’s productive capacity while restricting funds from covering routine public‑administration expenses.
