Argentina moves ahead with major road repair projects in San Juan and Puerto General San Martín

The government of San Juan province has launched the first stage of repaving Avenida Benavídez, a 3.3‑kilometre arterial road that connects the Capital and Chimbas departments. The work, carried out by the provincial Directorate of Roads under the Ministry of Infrastructure, involves removing deep potholes and laying a new asphalt layer and is financed entirely with provincial funds.

In the city of Puerto General San Martín, the municipal administration has concluded the initial segment of the recovery of Ruta Nacional 11 and begun a second stage. The project, valued at roughly 4 billion Argentine pesos, focuses on deep‑pothole repairs and the construction of a 2.5‑metre‑wide cemented shoulder. All phases are expected to be finished by August, using municipal resources approved by the city council.
