Argentina municipal hydraulic projects target flood prevention in Berazategui and San Miguel de Tucumán

The Municipality of Berazategui continued hydraulic sanitation works on Calle 148 between streets 57 and 58, replacing pipes, cleaning chambers and improving the storm‑water drainage system. The project is funded by the municipality and overseen by Mayor Carlos Balor and the director of municipal works, architect Ezequiel Santiago, who said the works will help prevent water accumulation during heavy rains.

In San Miguel de Tucumán, Mayor Rossana Chahla inspected progress on the 360 Viviendas hydraulic upgrade, part of a joint municipal‑provincial emergency water plan. The work includes rebuilding the Canal Sur Nueva Esperanza, upgrading the Canal Norte Alejandro Heredia and installing larger culverts to increase water flow capacity. Funding is split equally between the city and the provincial government, with Governor Osvaldo Jaldo supporting the effort. The aim is to complete the works before the next rainy season to reduce flood risk in the historically flood‑prone area.
