Argentina municipal election campaigns intensify as candidates rally in Santiago, La Banda and Yerba Buena

Campaigns for upcoming municipal elections in Argentina entered their final phase this week. In Santiago, the Frente Cívico por Santiago held large rallies at the Club del Maestro and Club Dorrego, where Senator Gerardo Zamora praised candidate Mario Benavente, saying “votar a Mario es garantizar la continuidad de un proyecto municipal responsable.”

In La Banda, two separate parties concluded their canvassing. La Libertad Avanza candidate Miguel Torres told supporters, “Queremos una ciudad para todas las familias,” while the Frente Compromiso y Unidad’s Roger Elías Nediani addressed voters, urging them to back his list in the August 2 vote.

Meanwhile, the Libertad Avanza of Tucumán reaffirmed that national deputy Federico Pelli will run for mayor of Yerba Buena, emphasizing his six‑year residence and recent change of domicile to meet electoral requirements.
