Argentina social benefits and minimum wage updates for October 2026

Argentina's National Social Security Administration (ANSES) has announced several updates to social benefits and payment schedules for October 2026. Following the consumer price index (IPC) from August, social benefits including the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) will see a 1.66% increase. The minimum pension is set to rise to $435,748.51, while the maximum pension will reach $2,932,174.85.

In addition to the standard mobility increase, the government is considering a potential extraordinary bonus of up to $70,000 for low-income retirees. This bonus would be distributed on a sliding scale: those receiving the minimum pension would receive the full amount, while others would receive a variable amount, and higher earners would be excluded.

Furthermore, the minimum wage (SMVM) is scheduled to increase to $391,200 starting October 1, 2026, with a planned staggered increase through April 2027. Payment schedules for various sectors have also been released, including provincial employees in Córdoba and Tucumán, as well as the specific disbursement dates for ANSES beneficiaries based on their national identity document (DNI) numbers.
