Argentina municipal sports restart as Chile schools reopen

In Argentina, therapeutic gyms in the capital city resumed activities on Monday 27 July across five sites – the Nueva Formosa Community Center, EPET No 7, the Cincuentenario venue, La Paz neighborhood sports complex and the Estadio Centenario. Lic. Leonor Lotto, manager of the Estadio Centenario gym, said the facilities were “very happy” to welcome participants and are preparing many activities ahead of upcoming events.

Also in Argentina, the San Rafael municipal sports department lifted its winter break, restoring programs at local sports centers. New offerings include Zumba, bike schools, recreation, karate, chess and the second stage of the municipal padel circuit. Football social coordinator Mauricio Jaliff announced the return of women's football this Saturday and a men’s competition the following week. A free field‑hockey referee course begins 6 August at Poli 2, and a goalkeeper academy has reopened its training.

In Chile’s Elqui region, the Servicio Local de Educación Pública reported that 20 schools resumed classes on Monday 27 July, with the remaining schools returning gradually between 28 July and 3 August. Ongoing water‑supply problems in La Serena mean some schools cannot yet operate at full capacity.
