Argentina-Chile post-winter service reopening

On 27 July 2026, Argentine provinces resumed key public services after the winter break. In Formosa Province, classroom activities restarted and the provincial school‑feeding program continued, providing plated meals and viandas financed locally after federal funding was withdrawn. Tierra del Fuego also relaunched its vianda distribution, delivering parcels to schools in Ushuaia, Río Grande and Tolhuin and supplying remote communities directly.

At the same time, municipal sports facilities across Argentina reopened. Therapeutic gyms in Formosa’s capital and the San Rafael municipal sports department restored a range of activities, from Zumba and karate to women's football and padel tournaments. Meanwhile, in Chile’s Elqui region, 20 schools resumed classes on 27 July, with the remainder returning over the following week despite water‑supply problems in La Serena that limited full operations.

Together, these updates illustrate a coordinated return to education, nutrition and community‑sport services across the southern cone after the seasonal recess.
