Argentina municipalities provide food safety training
Municipalities in Argentina, including Famaillá and Colón, are conducting training programs to help entrepreneurs, street vendors, and kitchen staff obtain national food handler certifications.
In Famaillá, the Subdirectorate of Food provided training on food safety, quality, and nutritional labeling. Participants underwent evaluations to receive a permit that is mandatory for anyone handling, transporting, or selling food under the Argentine Food Code. Following Decree 697/2026, these certificates are now permanent and do not require periodic renewal.
In Colón, training focused on Good Manufacturing Practices for staff working in community dining halls, nurseries, and local institutions. The program, held in coordination with provincial authorities and ICAB, aims to ensure food safety across various municipal services and local schools.
