Becas Progresar: Argentina opens 2026 student grant applications
Argentina’s Ministry of Human Capital, led by Sandra Pettovello, has opened the second call for the 2026 Becas Progresar program. This national initiative provides financial assistance to students to support the completion of mandatory education, higher education, or professional training.
The program offers monthly payments of $35,000, which can total up to $420,000 annually across twelve installments. Specific application deadlines vary by category: the mandatory education line closed in early September, while the Higher Education and Nursing lines have deadlines through September 11, 2026.
Eligibility criteria include being an Argentine citizen (native or naturalized) with at least two years of residency, maintaining a complete vaccination schedule, and having household incomes that do not exceed three Minimum, Vital, and Mobile Salaries. Age limits apply depending on the track: 16 to 24 for mandatory education, 17 to 24 for higher education entrants (extending to 30 for advanced students), and up to 35 for professional training for those without formal employment. Nursing students face no age limit.
